When You Might Consider PRP

Noticing changes that skincare alone cannot fully improve?
PRP may be considered when your concern is related to skin quality, tissue repair, scalp condition, or recovery support.

1. Skin that looks dull, fatigued, or lacking freshness

2. Fine lines or a noticeable loss of glow, weaker and less resilient skin texture

3. Under-eye skin that appears thin, tired, or fragile

4. Neck skin that feels less firm or more crepe-like

5. Acne marks or uneven texture that improve slowly

6. Hair that feels finer, weaker, or less full

7. Skin that needs more time to recover after stress, travel, acne, or treatments

These concerns are not always solved by simply adding more skincare, choosing the strongest device, or doing more treatments. Sometimes the better question is:

Can your skin or scalp repair well - and how can we support that process?

WHAT IS PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma
▪ It is prepared from a small amount of your own blood. The blood is processed to concentrate the plasma and platelets, which contain growth factors and signalling molecules involved in tissue repair.
▪ In aesthetic medicine, PRP is used to support skin quality, texture, collagen activity, recovery, and scalp health.
▪ In skin rejuvenation, PRP is thought to work mainly by supporting fibroblast activity, collagen formation, dermal repair, and blood vessel support. This is why PRP is commonly used to improve overall skin quality and is often combined with treatments that create controlled stimulation in the skin, such as microneedling, fractional laser, and radiofrequency-based procedures. In these combinations, PRP is used to support the skin’s repair response, helping improve texture, elasticity, and overall revitalisation.
▪ For hair loss concerns, particularly androgenetic alopecia, PRP may help support hair follicles that are becoming smaller but are still active. It is believed to work by stimulating dermal papilla activity, improving the follicle environment, supporting blood flow, and encouraging follicles to stay in or return to the growth phase.
▪ PRP can be applied in several ways within skincare and dermatology. It may be injected into the skin or superficial subdermal layers, especially for scalp treatments and certain facial protocols. PRP is also frequently used with microneedling, including treatments commonly known as “vampire facials,” where controlled micro-injury and PRP work together to encourage skin remodelling.
▪ PRP may also be combined with Fractional CO2 laser for scar and texture improvement, with dermal fillers in some facial rejuvenation protocols such as “vampire facelifts,” or with hair restoration plans, including topical minoxidil or support after hair transplantation.
▪ Because PRP is prepared from a person’s own blood components, it has high biocompatibility compared with other products such as mesotherapy solutions or exosomes.

PRP Sounds Natural. But It Still Needs Medical Judgement.
PRP SOUNDS NATURAL. BUT IT STILL NEEDS MEDICAL JUDGEMENT.
The important question is whether PRP is actually the right option for your concern.

At Oceania Spa & Clinic Hanoi, we assess your skin, scalp, health factors, expectations, and timing before recommending treatment.

Good PRP treatment depends on:
– Whether your concern is suitable for PRP
– How your skin or scalp is likely to respond
– Whether PRP should be injected, microneedled, or combined with another treatment
– Whether another option would give a clearer result
– Whether your expectations are realistic

WHEN WE MAY NOT RECOMMEND PRP ALONE

You want an immediate dramatic result
Your main concern is deep facial volume loss
Your under-eye concern is mainly hollowing, pigmentation, or eye bags
Your skin barrier is irritated or not ready for stimulation
You expect one session to solve a long-term concern
Another treatment such as laser, injectables, skincare, or hair medication would be more appropriate
You are not medically suitable after assessment
This is where Oceania approach matters. A proper PRP consultation should not persuade you into treatment. It should help you understand whether PRP is worth doing at all

      Frequently Asked Questions

      Is PRP painful?
Most clients tolerate PRP well. Depending on the treatment area and method, numbing may be used to improve comfort. You may feel mild discomfort, pressure, or tenderness during or after treatment.
Downtime depends on how PRP is performed. PRP alone may involve mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small injection marks. PRP with microneedling usually has more redness. PRP with Fractional CO2 involves more significant downtime of a couple of days because the laser itself is more intensive.
PRP works gradually. Some clients notice fresher-looking skin within a few days, while collagen and repair-related changes develop over time.
For scalp concerns, results usually require more patience and often a course of sessions.
PRP uses your own blood components, which reduces certain risks associated with synthetic products. However, it is still a medical procedure and should be performed with proper assessment, sterile technique, and realistic planning.
